Blumen Haus to launch in Lech

British businessman Andrew Flowers’ first foray into the hospitality world, Blumen Haus Lech, is set to launch on 1 December 2016. The new Alpine retreat in the Austrian mountains will redefine the luxury landscape in Lech.

At the heart of one of the world’s premier ski destinations, Blumen Haus Lech will feature nine super-suites, a fine-dining restaurant, indoor infinity pool, and high-altitude hypoxic chamber.

Blending the best of the old with the new, Blumen Haus Lech has been designed by Reinhard Strasser to combine tradition with style, comfort and state-of-the-art technology. Clad in reclaimed wood from the Tyrolian region and with a copper roof according to Alpine tradition, this is a hotel that pays respect to its history, yet understands the need for modern luxuries.

Bedrooms, living spaces and wet-room style bathrooms will feature furnishings from Italian studio Minotti; luxurious Egyptian cotton bed linen, and intuitive touches such as Loewe TVs, Revox sound-systems and iPads to control everything from the lighting to air conditioning or heating. Suites also offer a private balcony and terrace with panoramic mountain views.

Blumen Haus restaurant, Marmotta by Steven Ellis, will be headed up by Executive Chef Barbara Mairhofer, who was trained by Gordon Ramsay. The hotel will also offer an Alpine inspired bar, and a multi-functional event space with a temperature controlled wine cellar for tastings, private dinners and exclusive events.

Known for phenomenal skiing, the destination is soon to be Austria’s largest interconnected ski area owing to new lift connections. The retreat has formed a partnership with high-end ski brand, Indigo, and will also be home to a hypoxic chamber, allowing guests to train at an altitude of 5,600 metres.
