Augustus Hotel & Resort presents 1920s-inspired villas

Augustus Hotel & Resort has unveiled its Villa Ala project, which sees the opening of two new residences: Villa Ala Anita and Villa Ala Bianca.

The villas, resulting from the renovation of an existing building and the construction of a new twin structure, are inspired in style by two already well-known buildings of the hotel, Villa Pesenti and Villa Agnelli. The latter was designed by architect Osvaldo Borsani, who in 1939 combined Rationalist style with the use of typical Mediterranean finishes.

The project, helmed by Discreet Architecture, showcases an architectural reinterpretation of the Art Deco style, combining the history and essence of Versilia with a contemporary approach. Both private suites are spread over two floors and offer spacious living areas with a kitchenette and garden views, alongside three bedrooms. Connecting to the outdoor spaces is a terrace, while a bathtub is nestled in the lush private garden.

De.Tales was selected to design the villas’ interiors, which see the use of stylistic elements from the decorative arts of the 1920s, for instance Terrazzo floors with delicate hues and inserts in terracotta, sand and mocha. The furnishings, selected for their soft, essential shapes, represent a contemporary style that harmonises with the warmth of the textures and colour palettes.
