A rendering of Aman Niseko in Japan

Aman announces its fourth Japanese outpost

Aman have announced plans to open Aman Niseko in 2023, marking the brand’s fourth resort in Japan.

Situated on the high slopes of Mount Moiwa across an untouched nature reserve in Hokkaido’s Niseko region, the new property will comprise 30 guestrooms, extensive wellness facilities and a number of restaurants set across an expansive 187-hectare site. The new resort and destination will provide an all-season retreat and see Aman lay foundations on Kokkaido, Japan’s untamed northern wilderness for the first time.

The design is being overseen Kerry Hill Architects, the studio responsible for Aman’s other Japanese properties, Aman Tokyo, Amanemu and Aman Kyoto. The hotel spaces will be laid out in a masterful linear design that invites the outside in through floor to ceiling windows and doors.

The first full spa and wellness resort in Japan, Aman Niseko will offer personalised retreat programmes, whilst a number of dining venues will serve Japanese fine dining, Italian cuisine in Aman’s Arva concept, and a number of other venues with seasonal options.

“The announcement of Aman Niseko follows the recent and successful debut of Aman Kyoto,” comments Vladislav Doronin, Chairman and CEO of Aman. “The resort is designed in harmony with its expansive and serene surroundings and it will embrace Aman’s devotion to detail and impeccable service. This all-season resort will be a haven of peacefulness immersed in the purest Japanese scenery with the renowned thoughtfulness of Japanese hospitality.”
