Handwritten Collection Krakow Guestroom

Accor’s Handwritten Collection heading to Kraków

Handwritten Collection by Accor is heading to Kraków, making its debut in Poland with The Crown Kraków Handwritten Collection. Finding home in a renovated historical tenement house in the heart of Kraków, the property will open its doors in the summer of 2023.

The 44-room property will open under a franchise agreement between Accor and the owner of the property, Alventa Invest, while PI Apartamenty&Hotele will be responsible for the hotel’s day-to-day operations.

The Crown Kraków Handwritten Collection will occupy a five-storey tenement house from 1923, designed by Wacław Krzyżanowski and with Art Deco inspiration throughout. Inextricably linked to its cultural heritage, the hotel will comprise a restaurant and bar, cigar lounge, conference room and a fitness area, in addition to its guestrooms.

“Signing the contract for the first hotel of the new Handwritten Collection brand is a major step in expanding not only our offer in Kraków, a city immensely popular with tourists from all over the world, but also the general Accor portfolio in Poland. I am pleased that the Polish chapter of the Handwritten Collection starts in a city with reach and beautiful history,” says Jacek Stasikowski, Development Director of Accor Poland. “Thanks to the timeless architectural elegance of a beautifully renovated 100-year-old tenement house and its grand interiors, the new hotel perfectly fits the character of the brand.”

Wiesław Hałucha, President of the Board at Alventa Invest, adds: “We have made every effort to revitalize this extraordinary piece of architecture and breathe a new spirit into this property. By respectfully complementing the historical form of the building with modern elegance we combined the past with the present. We took care of every detail and used noble materials while maintaining the utilitarian aspects of the facility.”

Accor’s Handwritten Collection comprises a range of hotels across the globe in locations such as Shangai, Paris and Sydney. Launched at the beginning of 2023, the brand continues to grow, with Accor planning for the collection to include 250 hotels across the globe by 2030.
