The European Hotel Design of The Year

JW Marriott Resort & Spa, Venice – Matteo Thun & Partners

Commenting on this year’s awards, Matt Turner, Awards Director and Editor-in-Chief of Sleeper said: “This was truly a vintage year for the European Hotel Design Awards, with decisions in several categories amongst the most closely contested, and hotly debated, that I have seen in my years on the judging panel. From farmhouse renovations to urban innovations, branded hotels to independent boutiques, there was a great variety of properties represented across the winning entries. All those who were shortlisted can be proud of their achievement.”

Closing the ceremony, Turner also announced future expansion plans for the awards platform: “We look forward to building on the success of the European Hotel Design Awards over the past fifteen years as these awards become part of our new platform AHEAD – the awards for hospitality experience and design – from 2017 and beyond.”
