Yuzuru Yamakawa designs for Feelgood
Australian-based Feelgood Designs opts for well-thought-through collections of sustainably produced pieces, showcasing timeless design.
Although the brand originates from down under, the collections draw inspiration from Scandinavian and Japanese design languages, resulting in crisp, clean lines with poetic accents and preference for natural materials. Namely, rattan is a key material as it is presented in combination with steel, providing a sleek and elegant piece of furniture.
Designed by Japanese designer Yuzuru Yamakawa, the C series (C603, C607 and C317) date as far back as 1958. C603, looking as inviting and fresh as ever, stands out for its user comfort and rattan seat, a material that Yamakawa worked with for over 40 years. Besides the basic model, there is also a version at bar-stool height.
The later C607 excels by its simple lines, with this version presenting an upwardly tapering back seat back, and offering multiple height versions. Finally, C317 is a wonderfully comfortable lounge seat, dating from 1965 but appearing more topical than ever. The slender, geometrical frame forms the base for the conical seat, which is produced in rattan for indoor use.
