William Holland presents Verdigris

British manufacturer William Holland has introduced the Verdigris Copper Bath to its Living Finish range, capturing undertones of rich indigo blue formed through coppers’ natural oxidation.

Handcrafted using artisanal techniques and finished by the company’s team of master craftsmen in Dorset, the series makes use of  78% recycled sources, and combines raw materials and a weathered finish to display an aesthetic deeply rooted in nature.

Derived from the French ‘vert de Grece’ – which translates to the ‘green of Greece’ – verdigris was used by renaissance artists Johannes Vermeer and Sandro Botticelli, and has historically been prized for its luminescence. The unique living finish was originally the product of years of ageing, but today can be manufactured using an accelerated oxidation process.
