Vondom launches collection dedicated to ocean conservation
Vondom has launched its Posidonia outdoor furniture collection, named after the marine lung of the Mediterranean sea. The collection both nods to the brand’s Mediterranean origins and draws attention to its desire to protect the posidonia oceanica meadows, which are crucial to the ocean’s ecosystem.
Designed by Ramón Esteve, the new outdoor furniture collection is an evolution of an iconic piece conceived by the designer in 1996, which marked his introduction into the world of design.
Made from thermo-lacquered aluminium profiles and 100% recyclable HPL, the Posidonia collection is composed of a range of pieces, including sun loungers, tables, chairs, stools, benches and armchairs.
“This collection was the project in which, for the first time, I was able to express my way of doing architecture in a forceful way from many points of view: from the relationship with the place, physical and cultural, to the fact of manipulating the perception of the place, creating a total experience,” explains Ramón Esteve.
Affirming its commitment to sustainability, Vondom works in collaboration with Fundació Oceanogràfic València in its quest to protect and conserve posidonia in the Mediterranean coast.
