Trade Radiators delves into the science of a well-heated guestroom

The temperature of a hotel can have a substantial impact on the experience of its guests. Leading UK supplier Trade Radiators delves into the science of creating a perfectly-heated guestroom.

Installing radiators that are properly suited to a room can help operators cut costs. To help with making the right choice, Trade Radiators has developed a heating calculator tool that allows for simple calculation of the correct sized radiator for a given room.

Installing new radiators can require downtime – in the meantime, the brand’s experts have developed some quick fixes to keep guests happy.

A quick fix to a radiator that is lacking power can be rugs and heavy blinds, while the layout of a room can also be important. Additionally, radiators do not have to be switched on and off; their heat output can be controlled using a thermostatic radiator valve, allowing guests to personalise their rooms to their tastes.

The brand also emphasises the importance of a radiator that aligns with a hotel’s interior design scheme. “Before I started Trade, as a project manager on a mill that was being converted into flats, I noticed buyers were more likely to be sold on a property if the fixtures were high quality,” says Nicholas Auckland, Managing Director of Trade Radiators. “The same goes for hotels and holiday homes. Small accents can be significant, and they’ll make a room look more complete on websites and booking sites.”

To allow operators to see how a radiator may look inside their hotel, the brand has developed a new augmented reality tool. Now, a range of options – from a cast iron radiator to a more sleek, modern style – can be projected into their envisioned space.

Trade Radiators has been trading online since the early part of the millennium, increasing in scope to become one of the largest independent retailers of its kind in the UK, serving both commercial and domestic customers.
