Topfloor by Esti launches Wintertime Collection

Design Centre Chelsea Harbour-based luxury rug and carpet atelier, Topfloor By Esti, has launched Wintertime – a collection of four rugs designed by founder and creative head, Esti Barnes.

Climate change has been centre stage this year especially the devastating losses caused by fire and flood in many parts of the world. Inevitably, many link these events to global warming and especially to the melting polar ice caps, which in turn inspired the Wintertime collection.

As a consequence, the company will donate £100 to the World WildLife Fund, a leading climate change charity, for each rug sold.

Each Wintertime design is tufted in white wool, linen and art silk and references different aspects of a wintry scene. Tundra’s combination of textures depicts the layers of frozen earth beneath a blanket of snow, while Chill is a cool minimalist design based on a frozen pool surrounded by freshly raked snow and Icicle gave Barnes a chance to show off the precision carving of the icy ‘daggers’.

Founded in 1998, Topfloor by Esti bridges the gap between floorcovering and artwork with distinctive designs that combine the highest quality materials and craftsmanship with innovative techniques to create statement pieces.
