Stepevi launches new range of rugs

Contemporary rug brand Stepevi is to present two new collections at Decorex International this September.

For Pixel, Stepevi took inspiration from the Turkish town of Isparta, known for its cultivation of roses and home to the firm’s production facilities. Uniting the expertise of the area – rug making and rose plantations – Stepevi designed and produced a collection inspired by the blossoms that cover the field surrounding the company’s factory.

The range is characterised by a simple rose design, transformed into an abstract pattern created by pixelating and enlarging the original drawing. The resulting design is a more geometric, simplified and contemporary version of the classic rose silhouette, and due to the viscose yarn, different layers and heights can be woven into the rug.

The Mimosa rugs, a set of three designs in distinctive colours, are inspired by Mimosa blossoms – the symbol of happiness, rebirth and purity. True to Stepevi’s commitment to producing the finest carpets, the Mimosa series is woven from natural silk yarn. The collection is produced using a unique weaving technique that creates a relief embossed surface, highlighting the carpet’s design. The surface is then finalised with an uninterrupted over tufting on the design with the newly created ivy pattern, which gives the collection its name.

Decorex International takes place from 20-23 September at Syon Park, London.
