Stellar Works has launched the first round of its 2020 collections, with pieces by Neri&Hu and OEO Studio.
The brand is set to launch a series of products over the course of the year, designed by new and existing collaborators. In keeping with its heritage in creating pieces that celebrate contemporary Asian craft and international aesthetics, Stellar Works has worked with designers from across the world.
Neri&Hu, Stellar Works’ Creative Directors, present the Stack chair. The lightweight, multi-purpose chair is designed with a thin, tubular steel frame, which acts as the supporting element for the seat, but also follows the entire silhouette of the chair as a distinctive design feature.
This continuous lines give Stack a strong graphic character, whilst maintaining softness and comfort, due to the three-dimensional steel bending technique that is used. As its name alludes, the chair is stackable, which optimises its storage and space requirements when not in use.
Danish designers OEO Studio, who have collaborated with Stellar Works since the brand was founded in 2012, have unveiled Seiton – a new versatile modular storage system that can be adapted to form high and low shelving and cabinet options.
Seiton can also be configured as a freestanding room divider and comes in an easy-to-assemble flat pack. The piece has been crafted from wood – available in walnut and oak – with powder-coated steel and burnished brass elements.
2020 is set to be an exciting year for Stellar Works, with the brand having recently announced a new partnership with Denmark’s Nine United – who also own &Tradition). Nine United has taken over all of Stellar Works’ European distribution, strengthening the brand’s position in European markets.
