Sklo has announced the introduction of 2.0 Sconce/Ceiling light to its Twin series.
With the addition of a modified canopy and a few other small modifications, the new light is a surface-mounted fixture suitable for use on both walls and ceilings.
The new canopy uses two identical oval brass plates for a layered effect, adding a sophisticated new decorative element to the fixture.
Two flattened spheres of hand-blown glass have been joined together whilst hot, and carefully cut and polished to fit just against the brass plate canopy.
The glass is available in two different colour palettes with each one consisting of two colours – white and off-white, or dark and light blues. The fixture also presents two different brass finishes for designers to choose from.
Each half of the glass diffuser contains its own socket. The glass itself is held in place against the brass canopy by a slim brass bar, which fits in between where the two glass spheres meet in the centre.
“The Twin 2.0 is such a successful design and I am really in love with it,” says Sklo Design Partner, Karen Gilbert.
“Everything about the design is reduced to its simplest expression, and yet it is still very decorative and pretty.”
The fixture is UL-listed for damp and dry locations in the US and Canada, and available with CE/CB and other certifications for the European market and beyond.
