Spanish lighting manufacturer Santa & Cole has collaborated with Tarruella Trenchs Studio to modernise Hotel Peralada in Girona, taking into account the resort’s location in the Empordà Golf course and its close relationship with the wineries and surrounding castle.
The interior designers decided to change the use of some spaces, centralising the common areas of the hotel – including a lounge, bar, dining room and terrace – on the first floor. To create a rustic effect while keeping the hotel modern and bright, they also painted the walls in neutral colours and placed laminate oak parquet in the rooms on the first floor, as well as in the reception and the corridors.
Various Santa & Cole lamps are featured amid the furniture of neutral tones and natural materials. Antonio Arola’s Cirio Circular lamp decorates the tables located inside the stone walls of the farmhouse, while many of Miguel Milá‘s designs, such as TMM and Cesta, are distributed in the common and rest areas.
To enhance the continuity and highlight the outdoor areas overlooking the golf course, the designers also placed several similar furniture models in the interior and exterior areas. The TMM and Cesta lamps, both made of natural materials ideal for providing harmony and warmth, are used throughout both spaces.
In the second phase of the project, Tarruella Trenchs Studio transformed the office area into six suites with a terrace and a large, elegant room for events. Miguel Milá‘s lamps illuminate the suites and other areas, providing the Mediterranean warmth, harmony and comfort typical of his designs.
