RH Modern launches 2017 Source Book

RH has announced the release of the 2017 RH Modern Source Book, a 480-page comprehensive design resource. Presenting an assortment of modern furnishings, lighting and décor under one brand, RH has collaborated with designers, artisans, and manufacturers to bring this new collection to life.

Gracing the cover is the Channel Dining Table by artisans Thomas Bina and Ed Robinson, which features a linear American white oak form bisected by a continuous channel, and juxtaposed with a monolithic metal base.

Elsewhere, designer and curator John Birch of WYETH combines clean lines and classic tufting that echoes 1950s American minimalism with the Metropolitan Sofa, whilst interior designer Vicente Wolf’s signature lean style can be seen in the Modern Bali Bed – a reproduction of a Ming Dynasty-inspired piece he created for his own home in the Hamptons. Meanwhile, Timothy Oulton’s penchant for relaxed modernism is reflected in the Como Modular Sofa – a customisable sectional offering generous proportions and low-slung comfort.

The new collection also introduces several new lighting pieces including Jonathan Browning’s Vendôme, Arcachon, Montesquieu and Marignan Chandeliers – the latter of which combines sand-cast brass chains with 1,000 interlocking crystals – and Rudi Nijssen & Dominique Sente’s handblown Glass Globe Mobile collection, which offers transparent spherical forms that appear to float on metal architecture.

Additional introductions include the Sand Walnut and Brass collection by Barlas Baylar of Hudson Furniture, a series of warm, walnut minimalist pieces for living and dining, and the Cela Shagreen and Solid Brass collection, a pair of modernist designs reflecting a refined 1970s aesthetic, by Charlie Zagaroli.

Paying homage to icons of the past, RH Modern has also unveiled reissues of sought-after pieces such as Robert Sonneman’s 1967 Orbiter II Task Floor and Table Lamps; American architect and furniture designer Adrian Pearsall’s Curve, Serpentine and Stratus Sofas; Milo Baughman’s Model #1283-113 Swivel Chair, 1965; and, in tribute to Italian designer Mariano Fortuny, the Fortuny Gold-Leaf Icaro Chandelier.

Lastly, RH’s continued collaboration with Ben Soleimani yields 20 exclusive collections, celebrating his passion for minimalism and abstract tonal designs through the pairing of organic textures with silken yarns and subtle metallic accents.

Gary Friedman, RH Chairman and CEO, comments, “We believe that vision is everything, and this new source book is filled with both vision and visionaries who are redefining the modern market, and inspiring a new and contemporary way to live.”
