Nove Lighting unveils Cork series
Nove Lighting has added to its evolving Cork Collection with the launch of a new range of table lights. Fusing modern silhouettes with the patina of natural cork, the four statement pieces include a choice of two styles, both available in either marbled or blackened cork finishes.
After discovering a local, family-run cork factory while working as a photographic stylist in Portugal, Nove founder Kirsty Saxon knew that she wanted to use the natural material to create something unique and completely sustainable. The cork is sustainably hand-harvested from the self-regenerating Cork Oak tree and skilfully worked by hand to create uniquely grained cork lights with a clean, contemporary design.
The new table lights collection features two designs; The Table Light and The Stacked Light. The Table Light features a sleek, simple column of marbled or blackened cork and is finished with a chamfered, weighted solid brass base.
The Stacked Light, meanwhile, features a wider cork base that has been hand-cut to precision to create crisp, clean channels for a unique stacked effect. Again available in both marbled and blackened finishes, the model also makes use of a subtle chamfered brass element around the flex aperture for a luxury aesthetic.
“Each of our new table lights is thoughtfully crafted from a single block of either marbled or blackened cork, which involves a skilled, labour-intensive process of precision and craftsmanship which remains at the heart of every piece we make,” says Saxon. “Our contemporary designs are further enhanced by the customisation of contrasting solid brass with chamfered edge detailing, bringing a cool, soft glow to our lamps.
“Both of our new table light designs are inclusive of three metres of luxe woven cable in a choice of three earthy colours; old gold, khaki and black, and all come fitted with an elegant in-line switch. We recommend fitting our table lights with a large globe light bulb or a beautiful, hand-sandblasted opaque Tala bulb, which both work perfectly to create a balanced, stylish aesthetic and a warm, sophisticated glow; ideal for placing on bedside or end tables in any home. Both of our table light designs also look stunning alongside our wider range of cork wall lights, pendant lights and ceiling roses, which can be mixed and matched to create a truly coordinated aesthetic.”
