Naturalmat unveils new organic duvets and pillows
Devon-based manufacturer Naturalmat has launched a new range of organic duvets and pillows, marking an opportunity for the hospitality industry to support sustainable production while also benefitting from an organic offering that maximises both comfort and quality.
As with all material used within their luxury mattresses, the sourcing of the wool is entirely traceable and only sourced from select certified organic West Country farms, located close to the firm’s factory in order to support the local farming community.
Maintaining its dedication to zero-waste production and minimising its carbon footprint, the feathers Naturalmat uses in the duvets and pillows are by-products of the food industry. And the company is committed to animal welfare during the production process, with all feathers used compliant with the most stringent European laws on bird welfare.
Such high-quality feathers ensure that the bedding is completely hypoallergenic too, with a turbidity rating – used to determine cleanliness – of 600-800mm, surpassing the 550mm threshold. As a result, allergy sufferers can enjoy a restful sleep free from any symptoms.
Meanwhile, its pillow casings are free from chemicals, meeting the relevant FR standards whilst protecting the environment and personal health. The duck pillows feature an inner supportive core made of 100% European duck feather, which is then wrapped in a thick layer of duck down to retain loft in the pillow, offering support and comfort throughout the night.
Naturalmat’s wool pillows feature a substantial and firm feel, and are filled with organically produced British lambswool. As well as a standard pillow design, the company has pioneered a wool centre stitch pillow to provide extra lumbar support. Providing a softer alternative, the goose down pillows use a blend of high-quality goose down and feathers.
Completing the range, the duvets are available in either 300g or 500g for wool, and 4.5 tog or 9 tog for goose feather, as well as an emperor-sized option, allowing clients to tailor their bedding for additional comfort. Naturally insulating with significant breathability, the duvets are suitable for both cold winter and warm summer nights.
