Muuto unveils Workshop chair

Muuto has revealed the Workshop chair, featuring an understated Scandinavian design by Cecile Manz.

Constructed with refined joints and a visible wooden grain, the Workshop chair’s harmonious detailing is present across lacquered oak wood, matte clear lacquered oak or matte clear lacquered Oregon pine versions. The chair’s frame and legs are made in solid wood, whilst the back and seat are veneer.

Simple, and with a quietly bold silhouette, the Workshop chair is the latest release by Muuto following the launch of its new London showroom during Clerkenwell Design Week.

“Our overall goal is to write a new chapter in the history of Scandinavian design,” explains Anders Cleeman, CEO of Muuto. “We’re truly dedicated to traditional Scandinavian design values like functionality, honesty and craftsmanship, but by adding new materials and new techniques, and giving a bit more creative freedom to the designers, we believe we can make something distinctive that’s still true to the history.”

The launch of the Workshop chair follows a slate of new Muuto products for 2017 including the Outline sofa and chair range, the Around table, and the Folded shelving system.
