Morgan has announced new material options available for its Modena, Rakino and Kaya collections.
The addition of terazzo and cane come as the brand continues to reimagine and reinvigorate its styles, embracing feelings of nostalgia whilst adding a contemporary twist.
Terrazzo recently experienced a resurgence in popularity amongst the European design community, and Morgan has responded to this by introducing a table top crafted from the material in its Rakino and Modena collections.
Made from recycled marble chips, the new products present clients with a fresh and sustainable option.
“Originally seen in Renaissance Italian architecture, terrazzo has always had a Mediterranean feel,” comments Katerina Zachariades, Morgan’s Design Director. “The material is back on trend and is environmentally sustainable, able to be cast as well as poured, and is extremely hardwearing.
“We have opted for two standard colourways that work well with timber. Both have a neutral background but different marble chip composition.”
A return to natural and sustainable materials has also seen a rise in popularity for rattan and cane. These materials are tactile, warm and link contemporary design to traditional artisanal techniques.
Featuring in both the Kaya lounge seating range and the Goodwood collection, cane boasts a delicate texture which juxtaposes both collections’ distinctive timber frames.
