Lighting launches from Flos
Experimenting with an ethos of contemporary simplicity, Flos is set to launch three new collections this spring from expert lighting designers Michael Anastassiades and Achille Castiglioni.
Anastassiades’ Captain Flint is a perfect example of a multi-purpose, free-standing luminaire. As in Anastassiades’ previous collections, the notion of balance is prominent in this fixture. The head of the LED fixture rotates through the vertical axis around the stem allowing for ambient up-lighting or a directional light source for reading, with the cone shade resting delicately on the stem. Available with a painted steel or brushed brass stem with a Carrara white marble or Black Marquinia marble base.
Extra, Joins Anastassiades’ spherical family of lights and is another simple yet timeless addition, providing a diffused light via a hand-blown, opal glass diffuser whilst creating an illusion of depth that illuminates any interior. Available in anodised matt grey and matt steel and painted light grey.
The Taccia & Tacchia small by Achille Castiglioni has transformed the iconic light from 1962, offering a stylish, contemporary update. Providing indirect and reflected light via an adjustable hand-blown clear glass diffuser, Tacchia features a metal spinning aluminium reflector with a gloss white finish interior and a white powder-coated exterior casing. Available in two finishes: painted matt black or silver anodised aluminium body.
