Lasvit and Yabu Pushelberg collaborate with The Upper House
The Upper House, a boutique hotel in Hong Kong, has announced its collaboration with design firm Yabu Pushelberg and glass manufacturer Lasvit, presenting a design and lighting experience with the creation a bespoke Christmas tree.
Now in its second year, The Upper House Christmas tree is based on the Otto glassware and Cipher light collections previously launched by Yabu Pushelberg and Lasvit. The design represents a balance between heritage techniques, dramatic textures and contemporary forms – and will be auctioned off by the hotel to raise money for charity, with all proceeds going to local organisation The Society for Aids Care.
Presented by Colourliving, Hong Kong’s home living and lifestyle store, a selection of stemware from the Otto collection and lighting from the Cipher collection will also feature on The Upper House’s sixth level.
The Otto collection of stemmed drinkware features weighty bases, etched texture and clear Bohemian crystal, while the Cipher series comprises slender cylindrical lights, hand-blown and etched with champagne-gold polished brass – which when lit create luminescent silhouettes.
