Kaldewei celebrates 100th anniversary

Kaldewei has celebrated its 100th anniversary; a century that has seen the brand shape the look of modern bathrooms. Over four generations, the German manufacturer has grown from a small tinware factory to a leading supplier of premium bathroom solutions, revolutionising the sanitary sector with technological innovations.

At an early stage of its development, Kaldewei made design one of the cornerstones of its corporate philosophy in manufacturing its bathtubs, and later in its shower surfaces and washbasins. In addition to product development at its own Design Centre, the brand has collaborated with design teams such as Sottsass Associati, Phoenix Design and Studio Aisslinger for over 45 years, as well as designers Arik Levy and Anke Salomon.

“Over the course of our 100-year history, we have always been careful not to chase after short-lived trends. Partnering with illustrious designers, we constantly develop new ideas for our bathroom solutions, with which to delight our customers and inject fresh impetus into the market,” says Managing Director Franz Kaldewei. “With this philosophy, we have managed over the last 100 years to walk the tightrope between style-defining innovation and the eternal elegance of classic design. We are very proud of that.”
