Deirdre Dyson’s themed collection is inspired by Pacific Islands

Motivated by a visit to Archipiélago de las Perlas, near Panama, the use of Chinese silk is interwoven into the pure wool designs. This gives the carpets a mesmerising iridescence, which closely depicts the effect of freshly passing water over beach objects.

Deirdre Dysons commented: “I was unbelievably lucky to discover the subject for this collection all on one beach in the Las Perlas islands. Like jewels in the sand were stones and shells of exquisite hues of lavender, rust, gold and grey with beautiful markings. As the stones dried out, the colours became more subtle and this collection reflects this sand and sea-washed experience.”

The carpets are totally bespoke and can be fitted or free-standing. Customers are able to take inspiration from Dyson’s ideas, but apply their own touch through colours and design elements to compliment an individual space. All carpets are available in luxurious wool or a tactile combination of wool and silk. A palette of over 2000 shades is also available.

Continuing the bespoke element, the carpets can be made to suit, depending on the method of production. They can be hand-knotted by Tibetan experts, practiced in this ancient skill using Chinese or Indian silk and Tibetan wool. Or they can be hand-tufted in Scotland or Yorkshire from the finest New Zealand wool.
