Big Impact partners with Radisson Blu
Digital print specialist Big Impact has partnered with Radisson Blu and Radisson Red to introduce Walltex Biovate, the world’s first biobased custom-made wallcovering.
Constructed from modified starch-based polymers recovered from that potato industry, Walltex Biovate creates a healthy guestroom climate as it emits no volatile organic compounds. Further, the product is 100% PVC-free, contains no phthalates, no chlorides and no heavy metals.
Marc Schoenmakers, Director, Big Impact, comments: “At Big Impact, environment protection is a top priority and is integrated into many aspects of our printing business. We are truly honoured to launch Walltex Biovate with innovative hotel brands like Radisson Blu and Radisson Red who are committed to offering an eco-friendly design hospitality experience to the world.”
The product will be incorporated into BluPrint, the new interior design scheme by Radisson Blu that celebrates the brand’s design heritage and reinforces its signature offerings. Wallcovering and textile designs are customised by Big Impact for hotels and printed on-demand.
Inge Huijbrechts, Vice President of Responsible Business for Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group, which operates and develops Radisson Blu and Radisson Red hotels, adds: “Launching the environmentally- friendly Walltex Biovate is a testimony to the innovative spirit of Radisson Blu and Radisson Red. The biobased, top quality wallprints are not only beautiful; they also provide a healthy environment for our guests. Our partnership with Big Impact contributes successfully to our long-term commitment to promoting green hotel buildings. When installed in our hotels across the globe, it will help support our Sustainable Development goals around Innovation and Climate Action.”
