BetteLux Shape launches in the UK

German enamelled steel bath, shower floor and washbasin specialist, Bette, has launched its groundbreaking BetteLux Shape bathtub in the UK.

A new concept in baths, washbasins and accessories, the new design takes its inspiration from inside/outside constructions in modern architecture by placing the soft and flowing shape of the BetteLux bath and washbasin in an open steel frame. The baths and washbasins are enamelled on both the inside and the outside in either white or black, allowing the eye to focus on the shape, which is visible from all sides and is accentuated with a choice of colours in the steel frame. The range also includes complementary furniture and accessories.

This is the first time that an enamelled steel bath has been presented in this way, and Bette’s steel enamel allows this type of construction due to its strength and stability, despite its fineness.

Samantha Wake, Bette UK Country Manager commented: “Bette has developed its own advanced steel moulding process, which ensures a uniform thickness across the product, to ensure stability and a perfect surface for the enamel. We also use steel that is finished with titanium for better formability and stability. Our special enamel process allows us to deliver the optimum depth of enamel to the surface, and it is the fineness of the layer that makes it so strong and flexible – in the same way that a fine glass fibre is much stronger and flexible than a thicker glass rod.”
