Bette to host panel on sustainability in hospitality at 196+ Hotelforum
German bathroom manufacturer, Bette, has curated a panel of leading hospitality professionals to discuss the case for a net-zero approach to hospitality at the upcoming 196+ Hotelforum event in Munich taking place both online and in Munich on October 13th.
Since 1952, Bette has been making high-quality bathroom products using raw materials that are completely recyclable. Yet the manufacturer recognises the impact of hospitality development on the environment.
“With buildings and their construction responsible for 39% of global CO2 emissions and this figure not including emissions from hotel refurbishments, sustainability is one of the most important challenges for the hospitality industry,” explains Sebastian Noack, Head of International Projects at Bette. “We have titled the discussion: “Hospitality Asset Value: The Case for a Net Zero Approach” and topics covered will include the sustainability priorities of different stakeholders, how sustainability values can be measured and communicated and how a balance can be found between environmental, social and commercial advantage.”
The upcoming discussion will cover topics including how different stakeholders prioritise sustainability, how sustainability values can be measured and expressed, and how to balance environmental advantages with commercial commitments.
Dr. Willy Legrand, a university professor and leading scientist focusing on sustainability in hospitality, will sit on the panel to provide scientific guidance throughout the discussion.
Moderated by independent journalist, Beatrix Boutonnet, the panel will also include:
- Adrian Fluck; Director of Hotel Asset Management at Invesco Real Estate
- Hilda Impey; Creative Director and founder of Hilda Impey design studios and former senior of Wilson Associates
- JoAnna Abrams; CEO of MindClick and co-founder of the Hospitality Sustainable Purchasing Consortium
- Louise Holder; EMEAA Environment Manager at InterContinental Hotels Group
- Sumida Goel; Manager of Design & Technical Services and specialist for Sustainability Specialist at Accor CE
The discussion, entitled “Hospitality Asset Value: The Case for a Net Zero Approach”, will be accessible to view online at 16:15 CET.
