Bette presents new designs at ISH
Bathroom specialist Bette presented a series of new innovations at ISH 2019, including an individually made washbasin and a circular bath – both in its signature glazed titanium-steel.
The BetteCraft washbasin combines hardwearing steel with the sculptural aesthetics of fine porcelain, its delicate surface created by Tesseraux + Partner, who turned the steel into a rounded shape that tapers towards the top and bottom. This kind of shape is hard to achieve with the material, and is usually associated with soft clay at the potter’s wheel. To create the design, every BetteCraft basin is individually made by hand, then glazed on both the inside and outside.
BetteCraft is available in a choice of two sizes; 350 or 450 mm diameter, as well as a range of colours such as elegant white, matte shades and the new Effect colours, which include sparkling midnight, velvety blue satin and iridescent forest.
Meanwhile, the new BettePond Silhouette circular freestanding bath features no edges or corners, making it a balanced figure of geometry. Designed by Dominik Tesseraux as a reminder of the original shape of the tub, the bath boasts a generous 150cm diameter and helps to create an oasis of tranquillity in the bathroom.
Bette also used ISH to launch BetteSpace: a range of three baths that use trapezoid geometries to maximise the available space in small and medium sized bathrooms. The series includes the space-saving BetteSpace S, the bath/shower combination BetteSpace M and the side-by-side two-seater BetteSpace L.
