Atkinson & Kirby launches sustainability-led Specification range
Hardwood flooring supplier Atkinson & Kirby has unveiled its new Specification range, featuring two collections of sustainable hardwood oak.
Designed to align with the brand’s key values of blending sustainability with seamless design, the new products are suited to a range of commercial projects. With a focus on versatility and durability, Atkinson & Kirby has introduced over thirty flooring colourways to its new range across two collections, ‘Breathe’ and ‘Rockwood’ – both of which are inspired by nature and hold eco-friendly credentials.
Breathe offers eighteen new colourways that can be customised to suit any space, with each flooring available in either a natural oil finish or a new commercial finish ‘Purotec’, which helps to protect wood surfaces that endure high footfall by protecting them from damage. The components of the natural wood, meanwhile, benefit both people and the planet, saving 6-8kg of CO² per m² compared to other floor coverings. The Breathe collection is available in light oak patterns such as ‘Koli Oak’ and ‘Hossa Oak’, as well as darker, more earthy tones including ‘Haparanda Oak’ and ‘Rogen Oak’.
Rockwood, the second new collection, offers scratch-proof flooring in the form of a mineral composite base underneath a decorative surface, which together create the illusion of real wood flooring. The wood imitation is both water-resistant and highly durable, coming in twelve different plank colourings and patterns which range from the grey tones of ‘Cordillera Oak’ to the warm hues of ‘Sierra Oak’.
“Our new Specification range continues to offer our high-quality engineered hardwood flooring, with a new end user in mind,” says Josh Burbidge, Managing Director of Atkinson & Kirby. “Each flooring’s characteristics have been manufactured with commercial setting considerations, allowing for our brand to reach wider sectors and continue our operation as an industry leader when it comes to hardwood flooring.”
