Wimberly Interiors names Kajsa Krause as a Creative Director

Wimberly Interiors has named Kajsa Krause as a Creative Director of its New York studio. In the role, Krause will help expand the firm’s portfolio with a focus on the luxury, lifestyle and boutique hospitality sectors.

Born and educated in Sweden, Krause’s experience ranges from luxury accessories to hip hop choreography, branding and design, and gives her the ability to understand the art of captivating an audience. She has translated this craft throughout her extensive design career, which spans two decades.

As a trained architect, Krause has also spearheaded a list of luxury, boutique and lifestyle designs as well as branding initiatives for hospitality groups around the world. She has led projects for a range of noteworthy national and international design firms including Rockwell Group and Champalimaud Design. In 2010, Krause co-founded her own practice, Krause Sawyer, where she led a team based in New York City until 2020.

“As we reflect on our firm’s ten-year anniversary, we are tasked with the question of where we see ourselves going and who we want to help guide us there,” says Margaret McMahon, Senior Vice President and Global Director of Wimberly Interiors. “Kajsa’s extensive network and unconventional background is in line with one of our core guiding principles that diversity makes us more creative and innovative. I’m looking forward to working alongside Kajsa as she opens up new avenues for us, so we can continue doing what we love: pushing boundaries through experiential interior design.”

An interior design studio of WATG, Wimberly Interiors has grown internationally since its inception in 2011, with collaborative designers across five strategic locations across the world and representing a team of 22 nationalities. The firm’s 75+ team members are fuelled by design’s power to transport people to new experiences – to think, feel and stir – when entering a space.
