TPG Architecture appoints Shay Lam as Managing Executive

New York City-based design firm TPG Architecture has announced the appointment of Shay Lam to its leadership team as Managing Executive.

Having joined the studio in 2016 as its Creative Director, Lam has spent the last three years leading a number of projects within TPG’s growing hospitality practice, including the design of Citadines Connect Fifth Avenue as well as work for Marriott, Mack-Cali, and Gunung Sewu Kencana in Jakarta, Indonesia. In his new role Lam will drive to innovate design, with one of his primary goals to actualise trends and identify key factors changing the sector.

“Shay is a creative leader who inspires and encourages innovative thinking with our clients and within our firm,” says Jim Phillips, Founder, TPG Architecture. “Shay is dedicated to pushing the boundaries and brings valuable perspectives, design strategies and a strong business acumen that will help our team continue to expand within this sector.”

Prior to joining TPG Architecture, Lam led design efforts at WeWork for WeLive; worked at Perkins Eastman Architects with a specialisation in residential and hospitality interiors; and is an alumni of both Tonychi and Associates in New York and Tamotsu Yagi Design in California.

“I was drawn to the entrepreneurial spirit of the firm and have enjoyed the opportunity to contribute to its growth,” he explains. “I’m excited to continue working alongside some of the most talented and dedicated professionals in the field and look forward to further expanding our portfolio.”
