The Gettys Group appoints Principal
The Gettys Group has announced the appointment of Chris McDonough to the position of Principal, with the promotion coinciding with McDonough’s 10-year anniversary with the firm.
“This exciting new position means that I can continue to help the company grow and further innovate within our industry,” comments McDonough. “It also means that my team has enjoyed success, and this promotion is a reflection of those collaborative accomplishments.”
Formerly the group’s Senior Design Director, McDonough began his career with The Getty’s Group as a Senior Project Designer implementing renovations of the meeting rooms and spa at the Renaissance Chicago Downtown Hotel. Bringing his career full circle, McDonough recently completed a $27 million renovation of this hotel, repositioning the entire property and creating a rooftop lounge overlooking the Chicago River.
“Chris’ singular design vision has contributed greatly to a number of projects for us,” comments Roger G. Hill, Chairman/CEO of The Gettys Group. “From high-profile hotel initiatives such as The Godfrey Hotels in Chicago and Boston, the AGC Rotana in Dubai and the Ronald McDonald House in Chicago, Chris and his team put the guest experience above all else. I look forward to seeing where his talent and drive take him in this new position.”
McDonough received both his Bachelor of Arts and Master of Architecture degrees from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and is accredited by American Institute of Architects; Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, LEED AP; and the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards.
