The Gettys Group shares leadership shakeup details
The Gettys Group Companies has announced new additions to the leadership team at Gettys Branding, a specialised agency within the group that creates branding for the hospitality sector. Koren Nelson will step up to the role of Design Director, while Jessica Cockerill will take up the newly created position of Account Director.
Nelson, a multidisciplinary designer director, comes to Getty with a career of over 20 years in branding, interiors and product design. Having worked for and collaborated with companies and projects across the US, Europe and South Africa, she is particularly well-versed in applying a multicultural lens to her work, often incorporating the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals into projects. Nelson aims to continue bringing this experience into Gettys’ social impact task force.
“It’s exciting to be part of an integrated hospitality company,” she says. “Our team works hand-in-hand with our interior designers to create guest experiences and brand continuity that instils a level of confidence and helps brands as industry leaders from day one.”
Cockerill, meanwhile, is a seasoned marketing and client services manager, who in her new role will be facilitating strategy, process implementation, and translating client needs into creative deliverables. She comments: “The opportunity to collaborate, learn and integrate with team members of varied backgrounds within the larger company is invaluable. It gives our branding team a wider view of the many puzzle pieces that contribute to a project’s success. It also allows us to offer a thoughtful and unique perspective to our clients.”
Ron Swidler, The Gettys Group Chief Innovation Officer and head of Gettys Branding adds: “With the skillful leadership of Koren and Jess at the helm, Gettys Branding will provide our clients with highly differentiated branding and positioning as well as exceptional service to achieve their goals. Branding and interior design are inextricably linked in the success of hotels. Investing in cohesive, thoughtful storytelling completely changes the guest and team member experience. With our strong branding and interior design teams under one roof, that collaboration makes for increased efficiencies and far superior end results.”
