SB Architects has announced a strategic business merger with international architecture practice, 10 Design, an Egis Group company.
While preserving the current business structure, leadership team, and design approach, the partnership will allow SB Architects and 10 Design to pursue new opportunities, collaborate with a whole new host of design professionals, and support each other in an expanded geographic reach.
A trailblazer in the architecture and design industry celebrating 62 years of continuous practice this year, SB Architects will continue to leverage its entrepreneurial spirit and architectural craft to thoughtfully connect people to each other and to iconic experiences of a signature place throughout this strategic partnership and expansion.
The firm has designed award-winning projects around the world, including legacy projects such as Dorado Beach, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve, Puerto Rico, the first purpose-built Ritz-Carlton Reserve; Calistoga Ranch, the AMARA Hotel in Cyprus, a five-star resort set on a beachfront outside the seaside town of Limassol; Conrad Punta de Mita, Hilton’s first-ever Conrad brand resort in Mexico; Fort Lauderdale’s tallest building, 100 Las Olas; and most recently, the new PGA Headquarters, Omni PGA Frisco Resort.
“We are delighted to share this announcement, in what I have no doubt will be an exciting and pivotal moment for our future. This is an incredible opportunity to transition and evolve SB Architects, and it happened at the right time, in the right way to allow our firm’s vision and potential to be fully realised,” says Scott Lee, President & Principal, SB Architects. “This partnership is in line with our strategic plan to build on the strength of our service offering while maintaining our commitment to quality, innovation, and value. The reputation and resources from the Egis Group and 10 Design combined with SB Architects’ 62 years of design excellence, will secure the collective a place in the Pantheon of architecture, which is the pinnacle of where we have always strived to be.”
“This merger is another step along the way to expand upon 10 Design’s international footprint. The geographic office locations and design skills of each practice provide an incredible platform for multi-skill collaboration,” comments Ross Milne, CEO at 10 Design. “In the past 18 months, we have worked together on many projects from Asia to the US, which has strengthened our belief that we are completely aligned culturally and in terms of architectural ambition. I look forward to the next chapter where we together with Egis can build the business and produce world-class architecture.”
David Pringle, Director of Architecture Line at Egis, reaffirms the strategic business plan for the merger: “We are delighted to welcome the merger between SB Architects and 10 Design. SB Architects’ celebrated architecture and award-winning credentials present enormous synergies worldwide with Egis. This merger represents Egis’ most important achievement in US to date.
