RPW Design announces board changes

RPW Design has announced that Ariane Steinbeck has been appointed as its new Managing Director.

Jan Wilson, the current Managing Director who founded RPW in 1988, will become President and continue her close involvement with the internationally renowned hospitality interior design practice. RPW Design is one of the world’s leading interior design practices specialising in the creation of stunningly individual interiors.

Steinbeck said “I am delighted and honoured to join RPW and be appointed to this leadership position within the firm. It is a most exciting challenge to take on.”

“I truly believe that my early years in the hospitality design arena in the US and Caribbean market, weathering the many cycles of the hotel industry, and my most recent experience in the Asia Pacific and Middle East give me a unique insight and ability to add a truly global vision and continued strong leadership to the business of RPW.  I look forward to closely collaborating with Jan in the years ahead, a woman who I deeply admire and whose vision and ethos so closely aligns with mine.” says Steinbeck.

Steinbeck was formerly co-founder of The Gettys Group for whom she did 26 years of service and leadership. Her primary responsibility was the evolution of the firm’s interior design business, focusing on luxury and upscale hotels, restaurants, spas, and residential projects. Steinbeck also established and championed the firms’ Asia-Pacific operations for the past 8 years where clients included Hong Kong and Shanghai Hotels – notably the recent Peninsula Hong Kong refurbishment and Shangri-La Hotels Kerry Properties.

Wilson said: “The timing of the management transition to a new generation is a key decision for RPW, and I believe that, in Ariane, we have been fortunate to find someone with the experience, international reputation, drive and enthusiasm which will build on RPW’s considerable track record. I am delighted to welcome her and know that she will enhance our esprit de corps, add a new dimension to our skills, and contribute to the performance of our many successful projects.

“I trust all our clients will join me in welcoming Ariane and will look forward to working with her and our team.”
