Moore and Hutchins launch Muse

Luxury hospitality and residential interior designers Inge Moore and Nathan Hutchins have announced the formation of Muse London, a high-concept boutique practice which will specialise in one-of-a-kind projects around the world.

The new studio will be based in London’s Notting Hill and already has a roll-call of unique and luxury commissions in Asia, the Middle East, Africa, Europe and in London.

For the past decade, Moore and Hutchins have worked together at HBA London where they were President Europe & Principal and Partner respectively. Their approach is notable for its use of storytelling, drawing on the legends, culture, colour and crafts of the project location to create considered and inspired settings.

“Through our design, we discover and re-tell the stories that are held within places,” comments Moore. “By nature, we are curious people who love to explore and then weave our findings into experiences that are moving, memorable and magical.”

Moore is the creator and founder of Muse. With an instinctive eye for beauty and visual harmony, and with tastes honed by global travel and informed by family values, she instinctively designs places that make people feel elegant and cherished. Her vision for Muse sprang from a belief that the design process should be intimate, where insight, experience and creativity are shared to achieve outstanding interiors.

Projects led by Moore include Belmond Eagle Island Lodge, Hotel Alfonso Xlll and Hotel Maria Cristina. She is the recipient of several ESPAs and was recognised as Gold Key Designer of the Year in 2013.

Hutchins is the co-founder of MUSE. He believes in quiet luxury with its ageless quality, authentic values and power of discovery, and is exacting in the pursuit of this in all his work. Inspired by the world’s cultural crosscurrents and energised by his travels, he flourishes in collaborations with clients whose vision is as mindful as his own.

“Muse will have a very particular studio culture and that is important to us,” concludes Hutchins. “It will be shaped by the skills and passions of the team and this means we will be interested in the potential of the project and the client’s aspiration more than simply the size and scale of the commission.”
