JPA Design plans expansion
International transport and hospitality design company, JPA Design, has embarked on a strategy of growth as it sets out to strengthen and expand its Dubai, Singapore and London offices.
“For over thirty years, JPA has enjoyed an excellent reputation within the luxury hospitality and transport industries and we have delivered many award-winning projects in the aviation, rail and hospitality sectors, all which have been enabled by our strong, creative and strategic teams, thus making the company what it is today,” says James Park, founder and Principal of JPA Design.
“We are, nonetheless, further augmenting our hospitality design teams in order to make our business even better, and to do this we are bringing in some of the best available creative talent within the design industry. This talent will be applied primarily to both our Singapore and Dubai offices and will further improve the quality of our creative output, thereby properly realising JPA’s ambitions to become a truly global design operation.”
JPA Design is already working in the Middle East with airline FlyDubai, having designed the cabin interiors for its new Boeing 737MAX, and Park adds that the firm are committed to bringing the highest design standards to Dubai in order to establish a serious presence within the UAE, in particular leading up to Expo 2020 Dubai.
“To achieve this, we are currently building a team of the best available creative talent in the region by way of expanding our Dubai operations. Additionally, we are in serious talks to merge with the award-winning design studio S2 Interiors LLC, a Dubai-based interior design business, founded and headed by Samiha Al Hashimi. S2 Interiors count some great hospitality, F&B, residential and commercial projects within their portfolio and have worked with some of the largest developers in the region.
“The merged Dubai companies will from now on be known as JPA Design and with additional senior level appointments close to being confirmed, we are now very well positioned to apply our collective expertise to a number major hospitality projects, some of which are currently underway in the UAE.”
Announcing changes to the current organisation at JPA’s Singapore office, Park continues: “For a number of years, our Singapore office has been led by David Edwards and during his tenure, David has very effectively overseen the completion of many of JPA’s award-winning hospitality interior design projects. As David moves on to pastures new, I would like to wish him all the very best and to personally thank him for his many years of great work and for his dedication to the company. We are at the final stages of agreeing contracts with a highly experienced hospitality design professional, who’s remit will include overseeing the Singapore office. JPA Design works with hospitality brands across the world, notably InterContinental Hotels & Resorts and Hilton Hotels, while its interior design portfolio includes projects for the Taj Group’s global portfolio of luxury hotels, Jade restaurant at Fullerton Hotel Singapore and The Nautilus in Maldives – a luxury island resort set to open in 2019.
In addition to its hospitality work, JPA’s London office will continue to focus on creating premium transport design solutions for brands such as Singapore Airlines, Cathay Pacific, FlyDubai, Hawaiian Airlines and Belmond.
