HBA MENA names new Principal and MD
HBA has appointed Philip Gillard as the new Principal and Managing Director of HBA MENA. Based out of the firm’s Dubai studio, Gillard will lead Middle East operations and help develop its expansion in the region.
During his 25 years in the industry, Gillard has successfully produced and managed a diverse portfolio spanning architecture, interior design and master planning, with projects ranging from high-profile hospitality and residential to retail and commercial design across the Middle East and Africa region.
“HBA has a long-held reputation for being leaders in luxury and hospitality design with an unrivalled 360-degree service that harnesses the specialities of a global team,” he comments. “I am excited to champion and nurture this dynamic and talented team as we continue to expand our services across the MENA markets.”
Gillard’s market knowledge and sensibilities will support and champion HBA MENA’s continued strategic growth. His appointment comes after the launch of a new studio in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in October 2020, which opened as a response to a rising demand for HBA’s services in the region.
Andrew Moore, Managing Partner at HBA EMENA, comments: “Philip’s architectural background, project experience and excellent leadership skills will enable us to continue to serve our clients and remain at the forefront of luxury hospitality design in the region and beyond. We are excited and optimistic for the continued growth of the MENA market and the opportunities that the future landscape brings to our group.”
Bringing a global outlook to the role having travelled widely in the UK, USA, China and Middle East, Gillard will lead a multicultural team of over 45 designers, guiding them in delivering thoughtful design responses.
