Gilden appointed IIDA NY president
The International Interior Design Association’s New York Chapter has appointed Ginger Gilden as President. A senior designer and associate at IA Interior Architects, Gilden will focus her efforts on creating a program for current and new members throughout 2016-2017.
Gilden has been a member of IIDA since 1994 and has dedicated her efforts to a variety of the organisation’s initiatives, including the annual IIDA NY Leaders Breakfast. A graduate of Louisiana Tech University, where she studied architecture and interior design, Gilden spent the first five years of her career in Memphis, Tennessee, before beginning work for a New York City-based firm.
As a senior designer and associate at IA, Gilden has overseen various projects including King & Spalding, Jones Lang Lasalle, State Street, and Experian amongst others. She plans to concentrate on educational and networking events to provide maximum benefits to members, and also provide exposure to IIDA NY industry partners.
“I truly enjoy supporting the NY design industry and helping to bring out the best in our talented pool of design professionals,” comments Gilden. “This organisation has connected me with an incredible group, and I hope to be as inspiring as those who precede me. IIDA Vice President Julio Braga, FIIDA, Design Principal at IA, and past IIDA International President, provides guidance and support, as do my IA and IIDA families.”
