Lore Group has announced the appointment of David Taylor as Chief Operating Officer (COO). Taylor’s role is a new one for the company, as it continues to grow its portfolio of hotels and hospitality concepts.
Taylor joins the group with 25 years of hotel experience, helping to realise the vision of some of the most creative operators in the business. Most recently, he has been working as VP of Operations for IHG, looking after the Principal Hotels portfolio following its sale by Starwood Capital. He has also been at the forefront of some of the most exciting hospitality brands in the last two decades, from opening the original Hoxton Hotel in Shoreditch to launching the London Edition in 2013.
“I am delighted to be joining the Lore Group team, to help grow the group’s operational capabilities and to continue to promote best practices within the hotel industry. Lore Group has a fantastic portfolio of properties and is poised to continue to deliver forward-thinking concepts in key markets across the UK, Europe and the US,” says Taylor, whose appointment follows the news of Lore Group CEO Billy Skelli-Cohen’s departure. “The industry has never faced such a challenge as Covid-19 has presented, and it’s a very difficult time for us all. Focusing on the future and how we can all support each other to rebuild after this crisis is a challenge I’m passionate about – not just with Lore Group, but within our industry as a whole.”
For the last two years, Taylor has also served as a Trustee at The Savoy Educational Trust – an independent group committed to advancing education, learning and skills for those in the hospitality industry.
With offices in London and New York, Lore Group operates renowned hotels across the globe, including Pulitzer Amsterdam, Sea Containers London and Riggs Washington DC – the latter opening in February 2020.
