David Taylor appointed CEO of Lore Group
Lore Group, the company behind Sea Containers London, Pulitzer Amsterdam, Riggs Washington DC and Lyle Washington DC, has promoted David Taylor to Chief Executive Officer. The appointment comes as the London-based firm prepares to open One Hundred Shoreditch, its sixth hotel and second in the UK capital.
With over 25 years of industry experience, Taylor previously served as Lore Group’s Chief Operating Officer, opening Lyle Washington DC in April 2021 and steering its portfolio of properties through the pandemic.
“After a very difficult time for the industry, I am pleased to lead our next phase of development,” he says. “With five hotel and a sixth due imminently, we are in a strong position for the future. I am looking forward to the launch of One Hundred Shoreditch, having opened the original Hoxton Hotel in Shoreditch in 2006.”
Prior to joining Lore Group, Taylor was at the forefront of some exciting hospitality brands, from launching the Edition chain in 2013 to leading the Principal Hotel portfolio for Starwood Capital, where he held the role of Chief Operating Officer. His work also led to him being recognised as the UK’s Hotelier of the Year in 2018.
Taylor brings a passion for people and commitment to the training, development and mentoring of those alongside him. Aside from his role at Lore Group, he acts as a voice for the industry, supporting Hospitality Action, Master Innholders, and the Institute of Hospitality, and is a Trustee for The Savoy Educational Trust.
