Blink appoints co-CEOs
Blink Design Group has appointed Rengy John and Clint Nagata as co-CEOs, marking a new chapter for the luxury hospitality design firm, as well as a new management structure.
John joins following a 14-year career with Wilson Associates, where he was most recently Managing Director of its 200-strong Singapore and Shanghai team.
“There is tremendous potential. As a young firm, Blink is dynamic and agile, which is a great fit for the new generation of hospitality entrepreneurs with whom we are working,” explains John. “I’ve always admired Clint’s design vision. This strengthening of Blink’s leadership is a testament to our vision and ambitions.”
Nagata, who joins John as co-CEO, affirms the decision for a dual-leadership model, and adds: “The collaborative model plays to our individual strengths and enables greater effectiveness. At the same time, we can count on each other’s insight for future business decisions and challenges as we expand.”
Another recent appointment to the Blink leadership team is its Chief Financial Officer, Kee Choon Lee, who joined in February. Lee served as the CFO of Baker & McKenzie for its Singapore, Indonesia and Malaysia offices.
Founded in 2006, Blink was acquired by SMG in 2011 as part of an overarching strategy to strengthen SMG’s position and expand its global exposure within the hospitality design industry. In August 2016, SMG inked an agreement with Jaya International Design to manage and operate its ultra-luxury interiors firm.
Anurag Srivastava, CEO of SMG, explains: “We have put a strong team in place to lead Blink and Jaya towards our goal of global recognition as preeminent luxury hospitality design firms.”
