WATG appoints Anthony Mallows as President and CEO

Integrated architectural design firm Wimberly Allison Tong & Goo has announced the appointment of architect and city planner Anthony Mallows as President and Chief Executive Officer.

Mallows joins WATG with a career spanning property development, real estate, master planning, finance and design services. Most recently, he led the development team for Masdar City, a 600-hectare mixed-use development in Abu Dhabi, owned by the Abu Dhabi Government’s Mubadala Investment Company.

Further, Mallows brought Masdar City into focus at Smart City InFocus conference in 2016 in Yinchuan, China, one of the country’s most established smart city conferences, discussing the feasibility of renewable urban design technologies.

During his career, Mallows has been responsible for the planning, design and implementation of projects around the world including the Caribbean, Africa, the Middle East, across Europe and the United States along with Central Asia, Japan and Korea.

“Throughout my 32-year career, I’ve always admired WATG and the firm’s ability to continually innovate and deliver award-winning design,” comments Mallows. “I’m particularly inspired by the tremendous creative work the firm is doing in China and I look forward to spending time in the PRC to meet our highly-valued clients and business partners.”

In 1979, WATG became the first American firm commissioned and approved to design a hotel in the People’s Republic of China. Since then, the company and its’ interior design firm, Wimberly Interiors, have designed over 450 projects throughout mainland China.
