Registration opens for BDNY

Attendee registration has opened for Boutique Design New York (BDNY), the trade fair and conference tailored exclusively to hospitality design professionals, held on 8-9 November at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center.

Now in its sixth year, BDNY has seen double-digit growth each year since its debut in 2010. This year the trade fair will expand to feature over 600 manufacturers and marketers in 80,000ft2 of exhibition space, and expects over 5,000 attendees.

BDNY is held concurrently with The Hotel Experience (HX), formerly the International Hotel, Motel and Restaurant Show (IHMRS), and combines inventive elements for hospitality interiors with educational and social events. The event also features ‘Designed Spaces’, created by leading hospitality design firms, and a conference programme.

Michelle Finn, President of Hospitality Media Group (HMG), which produces BDNY and its sister trade fair, Boutique Design West (BDwest), has revealed that both trade fairs – BDNY in particular –have expanded rapidly over the last three years. Finn attributes this growth to the morphing of “boutique” from a hotel category to a general and widely adopted state of mind in the design of hospitality interiors.

“Even our trade fairs are ‘boutique’ in nature”, Finn says, “with unique, inspiring components that deliver the element of surprise, an emphasis on design and creativity, and a higher level of personal service. It’s a concept that’s resonating with both designers/specifiers and manufacturers, and word is spreading quickly.”

The New York trade fair also features ticketed events such as Gold Key Awards and the Boutique Design Power Players: Women Leaders in Hospitality breakfast and panel discussion.
