Interihotel, a leading event exploring hotel and restaurant and design in Europe, is gearing up for its 2024 edition in Madrid.
Held between 19-21 November at IFEMA Madrid, the headline and driving creative concept of the event will be Supernova.
A supernova is a stellar explosion that occurs at the end of the life of a large star, playing a fundamental role in cosmic evolution by releasing energy and spreading essential chemical elements for the formation of new stars and planets. Interihotel, like a supernova, is an ephemeral event that unleashes transformative energy, dispersing essential ideas to help shape a bright future in the hospitality sector.
This idea will be examined at the next edition through three main topics: Bloom, focused on the power of design as a catalyst for memorable projects and experiencies; Impact, examining how design influences collective consciousness and generates positive impact in the world; and Visionary, the intersection between innovation and technology that shapes the future.
More than 125 speakers will take to the stage to discuss these topics. The conference programme will feature keynote speakers including Jordi Iranzo and Àngela Montagud (co-founders of Clap Studio), Ana Milena Hernandez and Christophe Penasse (co-founders of Masquespacio), expert in urban studies Erik Harley, Anupama Kundoo (founder of Anupama Kundoo Architects), Karim Rashid (President of Karim Rashid Inc) and Joao Albuquerque (Partner at Bjarke Ingels Group).
The event will play host to Concept Rooms, spaces used to analyse users’ emotional response to interior design. Here, the aim is to gather new knowledge on how designers can respond to the needs of new customer profiles and plan how hospitality spaces will evolve for travellers in future. Spanish design studios Zooco Estudio and El Equipo Creativo have taken on the challenge of designing this edition’s Concept Rooms, which have been inspired by VP Hotels and Coolrooms.
The event’s exhibition space is set to feature up to 260 brands, and welcome more than 2,100 specifiers. Overall, more than 9,000 attendees are expected, 80% of whom have purchasing or specifying power, from more than 50 countries.
