Heimtextil announces event details
With news that Euorpe’s textile industry turns over €80.7 billion per year, Heimtextil – the trade fair for interior contract textiles – has revealed details of its 2017 show, taking place from 10-13 January in Frankfurt.
The event is set to attract over 70,000 trade visitors – from retailers and wholesalers, to architects and interior designers – eager to explore the latest trends and products. Over 2,800 exhibitors from the flooring, wallcoverings, upholstery and bedding sectors will showcase their novelties across the sprawling exhibition grounds, alongside a series of special features.
This year’s show will see a focus on hospitality, with ‘Salon Interior.Architecture.Hospitality.’ dedicated to assisting hotel design professionals in sourcing textiles for their forthcoming projects. There will also be guided tours and a lecture programme aimed at the target group.
Exhibitors who have already registered for a stand include mattress suppliers such as Frankenstolz and Technogel Italia and bedding companies such as Lefebvre Textile and Manterol. In the growing area of decorative fabrics, several new companies from Belgium and the USA in particular have registered, including Bru Textiles, B&T Textilia, Burlington Technologies, P. Kaufmann, Van Moele Weavers and Weverij van Neder.
Other programme highlights include the Green Village, devoted to the latest developments in sustainable textiles; a newly expanded space for digital printing technology; Now & Next, a platform for younger labels; and the Young Creations Award, in which emerging designers are tasked with turning old materials and waste into new high-quality products.
Areas enjoying considerable growth include table linen in hall 9.0, where new exhibitors such as Danto di Popolla Daniele from Italy, Sav. Chatziargiriou & SIA EE and Yioi Theof Mavropoulou OE from Greece, as well as Multitablecloth & Bed from Portugal, have all registered.
Meanwhile, the annual Theme Park will return, exploring the trends expected to dominate the industry over the coming year. Created in collaboration with trend forecasting agency Groupe Carlin International, the inspirational area – entitled Explorations – features four distinct strands designed to take visitors on a journey of discovery for the senses.
With a new location in hall 6.0, the area dedicated to digital printing has been expanded to accommodate for the rapid growth of the sector. In addition to well-known exhibitors such as Epson, Hewlett Packard, Kiian, Mimaki and MS Printing, new companies including Matsui and Schoeller Technocell will add to the line-up and exhibit their respective fabric and textile printing technologies.
High demand for tickets and exhibition space has signalled that there will be an increase in both delegates and exhibitors for the upcoming event.
Olaf Schmidt, Vice President Textiles & Textile technologies at Messe Frankfurt comments: “The excellent situation with registrations clearly shows that we are on the right track and just how important Heimtextil is as an international world-leading trade fair for the industry. With its new products and trends, it kicks off the upcoming season and is an indispensable platform for companies and trade visitors alike, from purchasers and designers to interior decorators, hoteliers and architects.”
