Designjunction returns for London Design Festival 2014
The fourth edition of designjunction returns to the industrial surrounds of the Sorting Office, New Oxford Street for London Design Festival in September.
Spanning four floor of the central London location, the event will showcase 180 leading global brands promoting design, retail and innovation. This year’s line up will see the return of a host of iconic brands including Modus, String, Innermost and Anglepoise joined by newcomers to the show such as Marset, Johanson Design and Selletti.
After the successful editions of Ventura Lambrate, Ventura Interieur and Ventura Berlin, designjunction2014 hosts Ventura London organised by Ventura Projects. Visitors can expect to see experimental and conceptual exhibitions alongside the most recent developments by the next generation of designers.
A number of new pop-up shops and high-end design stores will create a retail experience throughout the five-day show. More than 25 retailers will set up shops across the ground floor to provide visitors with a unique shopping experience.
The vibrant flash factory area will return, bringing the process of industrial production to life, courtesy of the world’s leading design manufacturers. On-site visitors will see bespoke ceramic tiles cut and hand-painted from Bert&May, intricate crystal-cutting from Waterford Crystal and live upholstery making from British furniture manufacturer Coakley & Cox.
This year’s show will bring a dedicated lighting show to London Design Festival. Lightjunction will present global decorative lighting brands and will encompass the entire basement of the Sorting Office, as well as reaching the first and seconds floors. Organised in partnership with Cameron Peters Fine Lighting and Megaman, this year’s lightjunction will be bigger than ever with light installations presented by BlackBody and Jake Dyson in the basement hub. The lightjunction hub will provide a platform for like-minded industry professionals to meet and connect with global lighting brands through scheduled one-to-one speed dating sessions.
Designjunction’s seminar program promises to bring the industry’s most creative and critical minds together on current and future hot issues facing design. Curated by Aidan Walker, the program will explore technology, sustainability, Danish design, architecture as products and product as architecture, as well as much more.
