Designjunction line up announced

The fifth edition of Designjunction, this year held across two venues, promises to deliver a diverse programme of design-led exhibits and workshops.

The College (formerly Central Saint Martins) and Victoria House will play host to 2015’s event. Taking place during London Design Festival (LDF), the central London location of the venues will showcase more than 100 international design brands and feature numerous product launches.

Over the three days various exhibitors, including Herman Miller, Wrong for HAY, Fritz Hansen and Modus – to name but a few – will feature in The College, creating pop-up demonstrations for their products. The trade show itself will be further accompanied by a series of talks, live workshops and flash factories. In between this extensive programme, visitors will have the opportunity to sample the design fair’s eateries; the East London Liquor Company, for example, will present the Design Pick restaurant, serving classic British cuisine and cocktails.

A creative twist on the usual exhibition format, Camilla Barnard will be designing and building a mock-up London underground station, made entirely from wood. The temporary structure will accommodate design collections from Alice Made This, Blue Marmalade and Lindsey Lang.

Each year Designjunction also boasts the only show dedicated to contemporary lighting during LDF – Lightjunction. As a result, the ground floor of The College will become illuminated by a series of bespoke installations from the likes of LUUM and Blackbody, making the entrance to the show an immersive experience.

Alongside these industry-based attractions, Victoria House will contain Designjunction’s retail offering, which with more than 50 pop up shops, has nearly doubled since last year.
