Decorex unveils entrance designers
Decorex has announced that this year’s main entrance will be created by four British interior designers, who will each explore the show’s central theme of ‘Blank Canvas’.
Henry Prideaux, Simone Suss, Maddux Collective and Brian Woulfe will fashion site-specific installations that tell the stories behind their development as designers. Each will produce a vignette that represents their journeys, featuring items, colours and patterns that have influenced and inspired them along the way. These vignettes will be partially hidden to visitors entering the event, allowing them to be discovered as they move around the entrance space.
With installations from Maddux Collective and Brian Woulfe yet to be announced, Decorex has revealed that Henry Prideaux Interior Design will draw on its founder’s senior year at Harrow School. The studio will take inspiration from the materials and colours of the school, as well as the uniform, architecture and aesthetic of his surroundings.
Studio Suss, meanwhile, will be informed by the past experiences of founder Simone Suss, including how varied decades have shaped her. The London-based practice will also incorporate the interests and passions that have inspired her work over the years, including music, art and fashion.
Decorex returns for its 41st edition to the historic Syon Park on 16-19 September. The event will host over 400 exhibitors from established names to up-and-coming brands, and once again becomes the opening destination of The London Design Festival.
