Decorex announces event programme

Decorex International, the home of luxury design, has announced its seminar programme for 2015. Hosted at Syon Park in London from 20-23 September, the theme of this year’s panel discussion is the future of luxury.

Highlights include a panel discussion led by Tim Gosling focused on international luxury, and a talk by Noé Duchaufour regarding luxury within the French design industry.

For 2015, Decorex has also introduced talks by patrons Libby Sellers (pictured), a gallerist and design historian, and interior designer, Guy Goodfellow. Sellers’ discussion is intended to interrogate the idea of luxury in relation to time, whilst Goodfellow will explore the world of the English country house, focusing specifically on the restoration of the Jacobean country house Garsington Manor.

Furthermore, Decorex has lined up a discussion on ‘The Future of Craft’ led by Studio Reed, The New Craftsmen and Soane Britain; this is as well as a debate on ‘Luxury in a Digital World’, involving Emilio Pimentel-Reid, Paolo Moschino and Giles Kim, to name but a few. Additionally, there will be a discussion between House & Garden’s David Nicholls and Luke Irwin (pictured), intended to examine the meaning of the word ‘luxury’.

Due to the historic location of Syon Park, the seminar programme also includes a talk on ‘Preserving Heritage’, featuring Blendworth Fabrics & Wallcoverings and Waterford and Wedgwood. The final scheduled discussion of the three-day event is an in-depth report – delivered by Global Color Research – forecasting interior colour and material trends for Autumn/Winter 2016/17.

A comprehensive list of all the scheduled discussions is available on Decorex’s website.
