Sir Hotels lands in Prague
Sir Hotels has announced the opening of Sir Prague, a 76-key property designed to connect guests with the city’s heritage.
Set within a meticulously restored neo-Renaissance building from 1884, the hotel blends historical grandeur with contemporary design by Linda Boronkay.
Sir Prague celebrates the city’s layered artistic influences through its thoughtfully designed interiors. Boronkay has fused Gothic grandeur, Cubist innovation and Art Nouveau elegance, with design details that include intricate ironwork and bespoke embroidered headboards that reflect Prague’s rich craftsmanship.
“Prague’s beauty lies in its contrasts – history and modernity, grandeur and intimacy,” says the designer. “With Sir Prague, I wanted to create a space that captures this duality, evoking both nostalgia and discovery. From sculptural lighting to hand-embroidered textiles, every element reflects the city’s rich craftsmanship and artistic heritage, inviting guests to connect with its incredible spirit.”
The hotel’s rooms and suites feature vintage Czech furnishings, sculptural lighting and custom-made pieces by local artisans, as well as an eclectic mix of textures, patterns and curated artworks.
Affirming its artistic identity, Sir Prague is home to a curated selection of contemporary Czech artworks throughout its ground floor spaces, including the library, bar, restaurant and reception area. Curated by Karina Kottová, the collection sees the library imbued with mythological and historical themes, the bar showcasing dynamic pieces inspired by movement and sound, and the restaurant highlighting artistic representations of food and nature.
Public spaces on-site include a library and a tranquil outdoor courtyard. Later this spring, Seven North Restaurant will open its doors, offering a playful approach to Mediterranean cuisine.
